i'm this close to putting the guinea pig back on craigslist

because she is not into hanging out. she will only sit still in your lap if you are feeding her a carrot. that's lame. all my other friends will hang out with me when i am NOT feeding them carrots so wtf.

housewarming party was fun but terrifyingly crowded. made chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting with words inside of them. got guinea pig advice from one of the editors at my old job.

once, at my old job, the editor who worked on the same books as the guinea pig editor (they were this awesome pair of weirdos among not very weird people) sent an email to "ALL NY EDITORIAL" saying something like "please don't think this is creepy, but does anyone know the best way to preserve a dead butterfly? i just found a dead butterfly and i'd like to preserve it. i've started researching this online, but any advice would be appreciated. i would like to emphasize that i did not kill the butterfly. i found it dead in the park."

today i:

• argued for 20 minutes about getting retroactive coverage with my health insurance company and totally won
• considered quitting coffee so i can go back to it and appreciate it more
